would would the approximate cost be to replace compressor in a whirlpool – fridge/freezer including service call? Need an idea.

It’s cheaper to buy a new fridge.

And if you get a service call they will charge you $50 or so and tell you it’s cheaper to buy a new fridge.

Rhonda it will cost about $300.00 to get it repaired. If you don’t want to get a new one. You could always check places like Goodwill Industries if they have one you can expect price under $100.00. I purchased recliner like new for $40.00. They have all kinds of things, at great prices.
